Thurlow Fisher Lawyers originated from DK Thurlow, founded in 1947, and John Fisher was sold to David Thurlow in 1951. After working with Pigott Stinson Lawyers, John Fisher returned as a partner in 1959 and the firm became known as Thurlow Fisher. Matthew Fisher, who has been a partner since 1985, became the sole owner of the firm when John Fishers left the firm`s partnership in 2003. In 2005, the firm became a registered firm operating as Thurlow Fisher Lawyers and Consultants Pty Limited, although the firm is still known as Thurlow Fisher or Thurlow Fisher Lawyers. In the early 1950s, Mr. Arch Olliffe opened his own practice on Fetherstone Street Bankstown (in a building on the site adjacent to what is now the Bankstown Library). His daughter Bronwyn Olliffe joined the company in 1979 and remained with the company until 1983, when his son Timothy joined the company. After Arch Olliffes retired in 1993, Tim continued the practice until 2007, when she was incorporated into Thurlow Fisher Lawyers & Consultants Pty Ltd. Tim Olliffe continues to work as senior counsel at Thurlow Fisher, which continues the family`s long association with the law in Bankstown. In September 2011, John Mallet, a certified personal injury specialist, and David Bentley, an experienced real estate lawyer, merged Thomson Bentley & Partners with Thurlow Fisher. The firm`s lawyers have worked in Bankstown for over 40 years in the areas of personal injury, real estate transactions and family estates.
